Hyderabad Dy. Mayor Felicitated



We shall Welcome with open arms Non-Resident Indians grievences of any nature, whether pertaining to their property matters, business deals or even educational, "Gates of Darussalam" are always open for our community, these were not only words but candid assurances by the visiting Deputy Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municial Corporation (GHMC) Mr. Mohammed Jaafer Husain Meraj.

He was addressing an elite gathering at a reception dinner at La Sani Restaurant – Riyadh, hosted by prominent and well-known figure of Kingdom's expatriate community Mr. Shamim Khan, Chairmen Deccan Cultural Association.

Mr. Meraj after performing Umrah is on his way visiting Riyadh, Dammam and other parts of the Kingdom, he hails from Hyderabad Deccan and son of political icon Late Ahmed Husein a former Member of Legislative Assembly of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Majlis Itteahad-ul-Muslimeen (MIM) which fields a solitary Member of Parliament and seven MLA'S emerged as the third highest party in the recently concluded Corporate Election of the Greater Hyderabad, they bagged 43 seats where Mr. Meraj was unanimously elected as Deputy Mayor based on a power-sharing accord with the ruling Congress party.

When asked about the pathetic conditions of the roads especially in the old city, with the road traffic increasing at an enormous level, Mr. Meraj assured that the issue has been much discussed about and a Face-lift Plan of the entire city is on the cards.
