Dubai Tamil Sangam a voluntary and non-profit organization started for the purpose of improving the talents of children and elders continuing its tasks since four years. It is a place for interaction and exchange of views at the same time following the Tamil Tradition.
Members help themselves and others and at the same time promoting the Tamil Cultural values. Dubai Tamil Sangam is an exclusively created for providing a solid platform for talented ones.
People who know nothing before joining us get themselves trained in fearless manner thereby gaining confidence and belief which will enable them to perform everywhere, including in their personal life and profession.
Dubai Tamil Sangam has created History with the support of their members. Few of them are:
1. Light Music entirely performed by the members.. The said event took place at Indian Consulate Auditorium.
2. One of our member performed a light music by whistling continuously along with the accompaniments for about eight to ten songs.
3. Release of Audio Album called " Dubai" by Vanilla Music
All the songs were sung by Mr. Ravi, our member, who was also the Music Director of the same Album. Lyrics and recording took place in Dubai.
4. The only sangam which celebrates all the festivals irrespective of the religion.
5. Members of the Dubai Tamil Sangam conducted a play where the story, scriptwriting, direction and acting were completely performed by members. The play was social event criticizing the dowry system. Even the Music was also composed by our member. The said play was broadcasted in Tamizhan TV in Chennai in 4 episodes. The said play was enacted at Indian Consulate Auditorium, in June 2004.
6. Our Sangam was first one to bring out Dance Fusion for the songs sung by Mr. Chandrabose - famous Music Director, which was followed by the light music where singers were entirely from the members giving spell bound performance in the presence of "Bharathi Kavalar Dr. K Ramamurthi". The said event was published in the Tamil News paper " Dinamalar" on 20.3.2005. The said event took place in Jan 2005 at Indian Consulate Auditorium, Dubai.
7. In May 2005, a twin program consisting of "Traditional Bharatnatyam" and lectures on Vaasthu was conducted by us. The Traditional Bharatnatyam" was performed by Ms. Indu Varma, Dancer, Director and author, highlighting the real traditional values of Bharatnatyam and how it was performed during those 18th and 19th Centuries and a documentary about explaining clearly. The lecture on Vaasthu was given Shri KVLN Sharma, Divine Astrologer and all the questions relating to Vaasthu were explained to audience. 8. In Sept 2005, Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathiar was remembered by inviting great patriots of Bharathiar who gave spell bound speech bringing out the values and richness of Bharathiar poems thereby convincing our Tamil fellow friends to follow the footsteps of Bharathiar. The said event was inaugurated by Bharati Kavalar. Dr. K Ramamurthi who gave a meticulous speech highlighting the importance of Bharathiar in our daily life.
9. In November 2005 a great twin show took place, where S.Ve Shekar conducted a pattimandram (Debate program) where all the participants are members which was followed by Paatukku paatu conducted by the Famous Music Director, Director, Lyricist and singer. Shri Gangai Amaran . The said show went on for a continuous 7 hours and the audience of about 1500 were spell bounded by the performance of the artistes. Complete TV coverage was carried out by "Thendral" TV. The whole show was telecasted in seven episodes. Sixty children performed various dances depicting their talents which were appreciated by S.Ve.Sheker and Gangai Amaran who finally gave the prizes to all the children.
10. In Feb 2006, a tribute to Carnatic Music was given by Sri Surya Prakash, disciple of Sri TV Sankaranaryanan who has performed world wide bringing out our Shastriya Sangeetham. The accompaniments to artiste were all from Dubai, who are really possessing the great talents and who can perform up to the Concert standard. The accompanying artiste also gave a stunning performance.
11. Apart from the above said events, there are other events conducted exclusively for members every month where members take part actively in various fields.
12. The following are our future plans, viz.
1. To bring out the hidden talents of all our members.
2. To make them participate a socio event whereby the benefit is received by all the Tamil fellow friends.
3. To make them participate in charity organization.
4. To build confidence in each every individuals and make them fluent with Tamil language.
5. To teach those kids who do not know the mother tongue.
6. To help other Tamil fellow friends by taking action jointly and collectively.
7. Conducting various classes of Management and human Behaviour in order to develop and tune themselves so that they can shine at their workplaces.
