Emirates Tamilians Association is a non-profit, social welfare organization making a difference in various social activities, creating awareness and spreading tamil language in the cyber world, educating and involving tamil speaking public in various spheres of tamil oriented activities viz. Social, Literary, Cultural etc.
We have a membership of highly motivated individuals driven towards fulfilling our ambitions and aspirations in the betterment of tamil speaking public. Most of our members are highly qualified professionals which gives us an edge in carrying our tasks in a systematic and professional manner.
We are very proud to state that we are part of a worldwide group, Tamil Net and Tamil Ulagam, who span across all the five continents of this globe. All of these thousands and thousands of individuals are driven towards the betterment of Tamil Society.
We pride, we share some of our achievements for your information.
- With the help of our Chennai based members wing, instituted a scholarship in the Coimbatore Agricultural University in memory of three girls, who were burnt in some political riots, a few years back. This scholarship was the first of its kind to be ever agreed and accepted by the University.
- We have translated a book about the assistance provided by Indian Consulate, in tamil and published for free circulation. The tamil version and the CD was released by Mr. Ponnuswamy, (Ex-Consul), Indian Consulate, Dubai.
- The very useful book 'Indian Customs Law' was also translated in tamil for free circulation. The hard copy and CD was released by Padmasri Dr. Rajaram, Director, Sivananda Ashram, Chennai.
- We have participated in 'Madurai Project' the scheme, which is developing e-texts of very old and well know articles of Bharathi & Bharathidasan on the web.
- We have conducted a computer awareness program 'Kaniniyil Tamil' for workers in Sonapur Labour Camp, Dubai.
- We have rendered our assistance to Indian Consulate during the amnesty period.
- We have sponsored 60 laborers for the Life Insurance, introduced by Indian Consulate in coordination with United India Insurance Co, India.
- We proudly declare that most of our members are blood / eye donors.
- We have donated IRS.50,000/- to Sivananda Orphans Home, Chennai.
- We have provided food and accommodation for 35 laborers who were not paid for a period of one year and residing in Sonapur, and legally helped thro Indian Consulate for getting their returns and benefits.
- Extending our heartfelt assistance to 100 Government School Students at Vivilipalayam, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu by paying the Library fees.
- We have sent IRS.10,000/- for the heart surgery of Master Vignesh, 5 years old, s/o.Senthamara, Tea Estate Worker, Nilgiris.
- We have sent large number of food stuffs, clothes and medicines to Tsunami victims thro the Indian Consulate, Dubai.
- We have released a book 'Valluvaridam Kettathum Kidaithathum' written by Prof.Anwar Basha, which is the easy translation of Thirukural.
- We have sent IRS.1,00,000/- extend our help to 'Akshaya Old Age Home', Thiruverumbur, Trichy.
