International Indian School-Riyadh (IISR)’s students are in 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions, respectively Sameena Nikhat, Humera Amjad and Asra Ahmad. Fifth, 7th, 9th and 10th positions have gone to students from Indian International School-Dammam (IISD). Sixth position is taken by an IISJ student and 8th position by an IISR student.
“Scoring a total of 476 marks out of 500, Imdad has set a new record of 95.2 percent,” IISJ’s Acting Director E.K. Mohammed Shaffe said yesterday. Imdad has scored the highest marks in each of five subjects. Sameer Masood has stood second with 91.40 percent.
Rameez Anwar has topped the commerce stream in the school and in the Kingdom with 89 percent, followed by Firdous Syed Shah with 88.4 percent and Adila Anees with 88.2 percent.
“The Grade 12 results of IISJ this year are the best both in quality and quantity,” Shaffe said. Out of 318 students who appeared for the exam, only 13 were detained. The school has set a new record with 216 students passing the exam in first division.
In Riyadh, IISR students secured 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranks in the list of the Kingdom’s top 10, IISR Principal Manzar Jamal Siddiqui said. The toppers (all girls) in the science stream are: Sameena Nikhat (93 percent);Humera Amjad (92.8 percent);Asra Ahmed (92.2 percent). In the commerce stream, Adil Abdul Aziz topped the list of successful candidates with an aggregate of 86.6 percent, followed by Sophia Noorien (86 percent) and Mariyam Begum (83.6 percent).
“None of the toppers took tuition,” Siddiqui said, adding that 226 students had appeared for this year’s CBSE exam, of whom 217 passed. The pass percentage was 96 percent. The number of students who secured distinction was 81, those with first class and distinction 178, second class 20 and one third class.
Dammam students figuring in the top 10 are Sangeetha Merrin Varghese (92 percent), Jeni Anwar (91.2), Areeba Basit (90) and Sofi Akhter (89.6). Indian International School-Jubail has recorded 100 percent passes with all of its 15 students successful. The percentage of passes for IISD is 99.3 with 283 of its 285 students successful, IISR 96 percent with 217 of its 226 students passing, and IISJ 95.91 with 305 of its 319 students passing. — Addtional input from Abdallah Rizvi.
