First Indian Photo Exhibition in the Kingdom K N WASIF, The Well-Known News Photographer from India About Photographer K N Wasif, a well-known news Photographer from India works with a leading Arabic Magazine Published from Riyadh since 1993. Before coming to Saudi Arabia he worked for about a decade as the staff photographer in INDIAN EXPRESS. He launched his career with SIASAT after completing a diploma course in Photo Journalism in 1979. He also worked couple of years for DECCAN CHRONICLE another English daily published from Hyderabad. He has also contributed as freelancer news pictures & photo features to national magazines like INDIA TODAY, ILLUSTRATED WEEKLY OF INDIA, SAVVY, SOCIETY, ONLOOKER, and to international agencies like AP & AFP. His works were greatly appreciated by Federation of Indian Photography, Andhra Pradesh Academy of Photography, AP Photography Society etc. He also has participated in International and National Photography Saloons and won number of awards in these competitions. Born in Hyderabad Wasif was working on this project “INDIAN ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE” for more than 5 years. He used to travel one or two Indian provinces during his every vacation to capture the scintillating beauty of Indian architecture. Besides working for Architectural Magazine ALBENAA he has been subscribing news photos and photo features to Arab News, Saudi Gazette & YaHind.Com and also writing for URDU NEWS published from Jeddah and SIASAT daily (a largest circulated Urdu daily) published from Hyderabad. Indian Architectural Heritage India has centuries old civilization. The ancient architecture of a country speaks of its past glory. Indian monuments and its skill of Engineering and Architecture dating back to the period over the last 100 to 400 years left millions of Tourist spell-bound and mesmerized. This Exhibition provides a glimpse of rich Indian architectural heritage. There are over 150 pictures on display. It is the first timer ever that such an exhibition has been mounted by a non-resident Indian. The idea was to capture the broad spectrum of the beauty of architecture during the past centuries, providing the finer points of architecture. My association with an Architectural Magazine of Saudi Arabia for more than a decade sparked my interest in Indian medieval architecture which is renowned for its exquisite beauty and fine workmanship. This is the starting point of my voyage of discovery into the wealth of Indian Architecture. This exhibition I consider as the first phase of my journey. In this show more than fifteen Indian monuments with their architectural details are presented. I shall keep adding new monuments to this project as and when I can.
