This question is wandering around owing to the recent flops/failures and poor showing of the Indian Cricket team in West Indies and the just concluded tri-series in Kuala Lampur. Let’s look into and analyse as to why is this happening.
SCENE # 1. TEAM INDIA BATTING SECOND
The television presenter announces: Welcome to the presentation area I will ask the Indian Captain to come forward
Mr. R.D how would you like to take today’s defeat? Well it was a gettable score our bowlers did a wonderful job but our batting collapsed even after a good start by the openers.
SCENE# 2 TEAM INDIA BATTING FIRST
The television presenter announces: Welcome to the presentation area I will ask the Indian Captain to come forward
Mr. R.D how would you like to take today’s defeat? Well our top order fired brilliantly and we were able to post a total
Beyond 300-mark but our bowlers let us down they could’nt defend this big total, also the fielding was very poor.
So, we have these two scences in the perspective, the conclusion is we are loosing matches both ways. Is there any other approach in the minds of Coach Greg Chappell and the Indian think-tank.?
I am surprised at the performances of some of our leading players in the ongoing Challanger series, the batsmen are getting good runs and the bowlers wickets but who will bell the cat?
Few days are left for the start of the Champions Trophy, its just a sort of mini World Cup involving all the playing nations under
ICC. Team India needs a lot and a lot of home work in every department of the game, we need to shuffle the batting order and for
God’s sake do not send Rahul Dravid as an opener. We have the Master Blaster back in the team and is in mettle, Sehwag can go with him and if he fails we have Wasim Jaffer, Gautam Gambhir & Robin Uthappa on the line. Mr. Dependable could follow or from the middle order Raina,Yuvraj or Kaif can be promoted.
Another serious concern is regarding our main strike bowler Irfan Pathan, he looks totally out of touch, it’s okay that he is getting valuable runs for us but his main role is to bowl, he should be a role model for Munaf, R.P Singh and Sreesanth.
So gear up!! Otherwise it will be too late.
