While cricket fans across the globe are eagerly waiting to see the outcome of match after match of the Championship Trophy,
There came the simmering news that Pakistan team was jolted as their fast bowling spearhead popurlarly known as “Rawalpindi Express” and fellow fast bowler Asif were called back to Pakistan.
Shoaib & Asif tested positive for a banned substance called “Nandralone” an anabolic steroid, as per the official reports the Pakistan Cricket Board had carried out a routine test on a group of 18-20 players at the end of September, the results were sent to the nearest World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) laboratory in Malaysia, two samples had come back POSITIVE of Shoaib & Asif and the Chairman is fully aware of the findings.
Pakistan cricket is already inundated with a series of controversies, the ball tampering row in England, the refusal of Younus Khan to lead, his reinstatement and the resignation of its Chairman Shahryar Khan, this is yet another thorn in the flesh.
It is indeed disappointing to see a celebrity player of the caliber of Shoaib committing such a disgraceful act. Now both the players are out of the Championship Trophy and may face stiffest purnishment from ICC.
